New Story Schools is Hiring a Head of School Near Lancaster, OH

New Story Schools in Lancaster, OH is seeking a qualified Head of School to help ensure the success of the special education students within the New Story School system. This position is responsible for applying the principles of behavior science in the execution of all duties associated with the operations of the school to create a learning environment that will maximize student progress. This position will be build and maintain relationships with parents and outside professionals. The Head of School is required to complete administrative tasks associated with the school’s daily operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Communicate routinely with parents and encourage parental participation in the educational plan.
  • Project training needs and coordinate training for staff to increase skill development.
  • Oversee development and implementation of lesson plans and specially designed instruction.
  • Ensure teachers follow appropriate teaching practices and curricula.
  • Review lesson plans to ensure continuity with IEP goals and instructional level.
  • Provide accurate information regarding a student’s academic progress to the multidisciplinary team on a regular basis.
  • Utilize non-violent crisis intervention techniques, as needed.
  • Interview and adhere to company hiring guidelines and procedures.
  • Manage employee performance and adhere to disciplinary/termination guidelines and procedures.
  • Identify and schedule substitute teachers as needed.
  • Act in the role of Substitute Teacher as necessary.
  • Monitor employee performance and conduct coaching sessions.
  • Assist with maintaining a clean and safe classroom environment.
