Who We Are:

The New Orleans JCC is a state-of-the-art fitness center and pool, a leader in New Orleans early childhood education, a fun-filled summer day camp and so much more. It is a place for adults to take an exercise class, an art class or dance class. A place for children and teens to experience learning through enrichment classes, sports leagues, family activities, and summer camps. The JCC is built on Jewish values, but is welcome to everyone.

The mission of the Greater New Orleans Jewish Community Center is to promote and ensure the well-being of our Jewish community and to instill an understanding of Judaism and its heritage by providing a Center where all can enjoy, learn, experience and share in quality activities in a Jewish environment.

We are seeking an Environmental Service Attendants to join our team at the New Orleans Jewish Community Center. As an EVS, your primary responsibilities will include mopping floors, dusting, cleaning gym equipment, organized, sanitize and perform various janitorial tasks. This position will play an important role in creating a clean and welcoming environment for our employees and visitors.

What You'll Do:

• Clean general areas around the building.
• Mop and sweep floors to ensure all spaces are safe to walk.
• Dust windows and wipe down windows and mirrors.
• Disinfect wall and other high traffic area as needed.
• Clean gym facility and equipment.
• Clean, dry, fold and store towels for the fitness area as well as the fitness desk.
• Ensure all areas are clean and litter free, including vacuuming, dusting, mopping, sweeping, cleaning/wipe down mirror in the cardiovascular room and weight room, group fitness studios, personal training studio and locker rooms.
• Keep locker rooms and related areas spotless and orderly at all times.
• Report any broken equipment, dispensers or lighting to Facilities Manager.
• Basic understanding of chemicals used in housekeeping.

What You'll Bring:

• Janitorial, custodial or general cleaning experience preferred.
• CPR and First aid certification or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe.

Schedule:

Part-Time

Monday - Friday from 4pm-9pm 

OR

Saturday & Sunday 1:30pm-7:00pm 

(Option to pick up additional shifts)
