New Mexico Donor Services is Hiring a Referral Response Coordinator Near Nashville, TN

 

Tennessee Donor Services is seeking a Referral Response Coordinator to join our team! This position will provide referral call coverage and on-site response to area hospitals to conduct medical evaluation on all potential organ donors and develop a plan with the healthcare team to maintain the option of donation. Below are some of the key accountabilities this position will hold:

  1. Provides referral call and referral response to hospitals on potential organ donors, document referral information, and collaborate with hospital staff.
  1. Evaluates medical suitability of potential organ donors, utilizing information from medical records, history and physical examination and current health status.
  1. Collaborates with hospital staff (bedside nurse, charge nurse, Attending Physician) to ensure that the option of donation is maintained.
  1. In collaboration with the Administrator on Call, requests and interprets laboratory and diagnostic tests needed for evaluation of suitability and clinical management of potential organ donors. 
  1. Collaborates with the Organ Recovery and Family Care Coordinators to determine a plan of action for following potential donor cases, re-referral of non-eligible donor referrals or activation of the appropriate DCIDS team members.
  1. Performs other related duties as assigned.

New employees must have their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine by their potential start date or be able to supply proof of vaccination.

The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

  1. Certified as a paramedic, respiratory therapist, LPN, or other allied healthcare field
  2. Must have 2 years of either emergency or critical care experience – preferably in a hospital setting
  3. Must understand medical terminology
  4. Must be able to read a medical chart
  5. Must have a valid driver’s license with the ability to pass MVR underwriting requirements
