Job Description: Transporters are reliable individuals that provide transportation to clients, to and from family visits, doctor’s appointments, court dates, etc. Schedules vary. Fulltime and part time positions are available. This position does include a company fleet vehicle for business related travel and transports only. Drivers must have valid driver’s license, clear driving record and the ability to document client behaviors including incidents while the child is in your care.
Essential Duties:
· Ensure the timely pick up of children entering foster care
· Provide a safe environment for children while in transit
· Provide on-time arrival for all transports
· Monitor and document child’s behavior and activities while in transit
· Ensure confidentiality
· Exhibit a high level of courtesy and professionalism
· Ability to work effectively with staff in the Transportation Department as well as other New Mercy staff and external
clients/customers
· Implement and follow all agency and department policies and procedures
· Maintain a fully operational, licensed, and insured vehicle
· Maintain a valid driver’s license
· Maintain/complete all required forms and written reports
· Assist in the transfer of information and materials throughout the agency
· Attend necessary training hours as required by the New Mercy staff
· Participate in staff meetings and other department functions
· Serve as a mandated reporter of suspected abuse/neglect
· All other duties assigned

· Performs duties as workload necessitates Maintains a positive and respectful attitude
· Communicates regularly with supervisor about department issues
· Demonstrates flexible and efficient time management skills and ability to prioritize workload
· Meets department performance/productivity standards
· Completes new staff orientation and any job specific training within established timelines
· The Transporter must be available to New Mercy staff for questions or concerns
Skills/Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record; must be at least 18 years old; must be willing to work holidays, weekends, and a flexible schedule; knowledgeable of HIPAA Privacy rules; be punctual; working with New Mercy families, children, youth, and caregivers; and good interpersonal skills. Adhere to and enforce New Mercy policy and procedures, regulations and other laws applicable to private foster care
