New London Local Schools is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Middle School English Language Arts Teacher to join our team and make a positive impact on the education and literacy development of our students. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the Ohio Content Standards, with a particular emphasis on the science of reading, and a commitment to implementing district-approved curriculum with fidelity.

Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver engaging and rigorous English Language Arts lessons that align with the Ohio Content Standards for middle school students and district approved curriculum.

• Integrate the science of reading principles into daily instruction to enhance students' foundational literacy skills, including phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.

• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with varying learning styles and abilities.

• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective strategies for improving literacy outcomes across all content areas.

• Utilize data-driven assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.

• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes a love for reading and language arts.

Qualifications:

• Valid Ohio teaching license in Middle Childhood Education with a focus on English Language Arts.

• Demonstrated knowledge of the Ohio Content Standards and a commitment to staying current with any updates or revisions.

• Strong background in the science of reading and a proven ability to integrate evidence-based literacy practices into instruction or a commitment to learn through district provided opportunities.

• Effective classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, colleagues, and parents.
