New Life Covenant Church is Hiring a Preschool Director Near Wichita, KS

Position: Preschool Director

Ministry Area: Family Ministries

Classification: Part Time, Salaried

Primary Reporting Relationship: Associate Pastor

Location: New Life Covenant Church Campus

Job Vision:

At New Life Covenant Church, our vision is to build lives together to make fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. We accomplish this by building Christ-centered relationships, growing in God through the word and prayer, and going into the world with the love of Christ. The Preschool Director creates a warm, friendly, and safe space for children to learn, play and grow in their knowledge of Christ. As a director, he or she passionately leads and ensures that all of New Life’s events are family-friendly by providing care and/or programming.

Core Responsibilities:

Creating and maintaining an atmosphere of joy where children are safe, nurtured, and engaged with age-appropriate programming, which includes (but isn’t limited to):

  • Maintaining a clean, well-organized, and welcoming Pre-K center. 
  • Parents are to be warmly greeted and welcomed at drop-off and pickup.
  • Ensuring that tables, toys, and other surfaces are cleaned and disinfected. 
  • The special needs of each child must be noted and addressed with care.
  • Supplies are to be organized and easily accessible to all workers and volunteers, including snacks, activities, diapers/wipes, and cleaning supplies.

Intentionally contribute to children’s spiritual development. 

  • Adopt and embrace a core curriculum that is prepared and set up to be led by volunteers every week.
  • Utilize a variety of methods to present the Bible to children (video, music, activities, etc)

Train and coordinate preschool volunteers.

  • Establish regular communication with volunteers to coordinate Sunday schedules.
  • Onboard new volunteers and ensure they are background checked and trained to serve in the Pre-K area. 
  • Coordinate volunteer involvement in special events and services. 

Lead Sundays

  • Ensure the Pre-K is set up to welcome families promptly at check-in
  • Proactively communicate your absences and ensure every Sunday is adequately staffed 
  • Communicate with parents about any needs or changes with their children 
  • Contribute to and lead the planning and execution of kid-focused events throughout the year. 

Any other necessary tasks as assigned

Safety Requirements:

  • Current certification in child/infant CPR is required
  • Strong basic knowledge of first aid procedures and best practices.
  • Able to pass a background check

  • A healthy walk with Christ and in personal relationships (marriage, family, and others)
  • An established relationship with God’s word, and a commitment to live by His principles.
  • A rooted belief (and agreement with your spouse) that you are called to be in this position.

As a director, you serve as a visible member of our church’s leadership and need to be aligned with New Life’s mission and values. The needs of this role will affect service attendance, so we expect the director to continue growing spiritually and maintain fellowship with the body.

What will put you ahead:

  • 2 Experience with caring for children between the ages of 0 to 5
  • Certifications or degrees in child education or development
  • Experience with serving on a church staff or in the non-profit sector.
