NEW LIFE CHURCH OF WOODBURY is Hiring a Full Time Building Substitute Teacher Near Woodbury, MN

New Life Academy is looking for a dedicated long-term Substitute Teacher to work regularly in all school divisions, Early Ed through Grade 12. The position will begin August 12th, participating in Teacher Workshop Week and will last through the end of the school year. This role will assume all of the classroom responsibilities and duties of a teacher at New Life Academy, with the exception of curriculum planning. This significant support role will be encouraged to attend all professional development opportunities offered to faculty throughout the school year. The Building Substitute Teacher schedule is 7:30 am until 3:30 pm. There will be training, support and curriculum plans to follow. The Building Substitute will report to the Early Ed Director. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher seeking freedom from extensive curriculum design and grading or for a new graduate educated in teaching seeking to build a resume.


Responsibilities

  • Instruction

  • Carefully review and follow sub notes from teacher

  • Learn learning platforms to use technology as learning aid

  • Collaborate with specialist teachers in order to help students in need of additional support

Classroom management

  • Keep records including daily attendance and lunch counts

  • Be aware of and enforce handbook policies (Teacher and Student Handbooks)

  • Take notes on learning progress for classroom teacher

  • Model and encourage Christian character

Other duties

  • Attending scheduled faculty meetings, when scheduled between the hours of 7:30am and 3:30pm

  • Attend professional development days

  • Follow school systems regarding policies, grading, record-keeping, and communication with lead teachers

  • Support project work when classroom subbing is not needed by all three educational divisions

  • Manage timecard independently

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications Required

  • Academic

  • Bachelor's degree in education

  • Experience related to 21st century learning concepts and integration of technology into the classroom

  • Knowledge of Christian K-12 education (characteristics)

  • Innate commitment to and passion for New Life Academy’s mission and vision

  • Ability to effectively integrate New Life’s Christian beliefs and conduct into daily work

  • Ability to build a positive reputation through effective relationship-building and daily conduct

  • Proactively seeks ways to improve how the school presents itself from a Christian perspective

  • Born again believer who exhibits the Fruit of the Spirit in their daily walk

  • Regular attendee and supporter of a church whose fundamental beliefs are evangelical in nature
