New Leader Manufacturing is Hiring a Scheduler Near Rapids, IA

The Scheduler is responsible for all tasks associated with the scheduling and coordination of production on the shop floor; including work center scheduling, production order entry, production reporting, distribution of all documents related to production, and asset utilization. Responsibilities require knowledge of scheduling practices, independent judgement, and the ability to seize opportunities for problem solving and improvements.

  • Responsible for manufacturing productivity, generating schedules and nests as appropriate that optimize material and resource utilization.
  • Creates weekly and bi-weekly production schedules for shop floor work centers using material requirements reports for sold, stock and forecast production orders.
  • Monitors and schedules production work orders for assigned work centers based on available capacity on a weekly basis.
  • Modifies shop floor control orders to customer specifications as needed.

Productivity / Job Knowledge 20%

  • Coordinates with floor supervisors to prioritize shop production by work center.
  • Provides direction to floor supervisors on personnel shifts on shop floor, based on direct labor hours available, and coordinates with floor supervisors to manage and re-schedule past due production orders.
  • Prepares and releases production orders per schedules and material requirements with knowledge of the part and how it’s used; the financial impact of a WO’s administrative costs; and the financial impact of inventory carrying costs.
  • Assembles materials/documents to support shop floor control orders (material pick lists, shop packets, schedules, etc.).
  • Reports shop floor control activity transactions when needed, and provides support for shop floor personnel when reporting.
  • Supports MRP settings with item file updates and bill of material structure.
  • Manages process improvements to maximize operating parameters of production equipment, assets, and software including fabrication machines and software as appropriate.

Requirements

Qualifications and Essential Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently
  • Strong organizational capabilities, and ability to perform multi-tasks routinely in a fast-paced environment
  • ERP and MRP experience is preferred.
  • Previous scheduling experience is preferred.
