About NJTA
The New Jersey Turnpike Authority (NJTA) is a state agency responsible for maintaining the New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway - two of the busiest toll roads in the United States. Everyday, the Authority’s highways provide the safest, quickest, and most convenient routes for hundreds of commuters, truckers, and recreational travelers.

POSITION OBJECTIVE

Works under the general direction of the Deputy Chief Information Officer to manage a team of internal and external technical developers that maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance the Authority’s Financial Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and capital planning platforms while ensuring 24/7 functionality, stability, and expandability which commensurate with the Authority’s goals and requirements .

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary responsibility is to ensure availability of all applications by coordinating efforts among various IT and business resources for system maintenance, server upgrades, application upgrades, and integration efforts. Serves as lead technical and security administrator for all business administration platforms, ensuring software audit best practices.

  • Maintain, upgrade, and support systems, such as PeopleSoft Financials, Korber Supply Chain system and Aurigo Masterworks system.
  • Participates in the feasibility analysis for new systems/applications to determine how applications and processes can be improved.
  • Serves as a technical lead on small-to-mid sized projects.
  • Monitors the operating efficiency of existing application systems and provides (or arranges for) proactive maintenance to prevent application or system issues.
  • Provides and/or arranges for technical support and problem resolution for client inquiries and to resolve production issues.
  • Participates in user training as appropriate, on new or revised systems/applications.
  • Makes modifications to jobs and schedules jobs in production.
  • Stays current on changing methodologies/standard operating Makes recommendations to management regarding technology investments.
  • Works with the functional specialists to review the business requirements to develop functional design documents.
  • Is a subject matter expert who creates and or modifies methodologies/standard operating procedures, as appropriate.
  • Provides recommendations on vendor Negotiates terms and conditions with vendors.
  • Conducts complete diagnosis of business problems, factoring in a strong understanding of the technical architecture.
  • Develops user training plan for new or revised systems/applications, leveraging vendors and business resources as appropriate to streamline new user or new application adoption.
  • Plays a leadership role in the feasibility analysis for new systems/applications including understanding implications for the current and future architecture to determine how applications and processes can be improved.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ten (10) years of IT experience.
  • Ten (10) years of PeopleSoft System Application (functional and technical) Specifically, ten (10) years’ experience with PeopleSoft Internet Architecture (PIA ). Including experience in installing, configuring Application servers (Tuxedo), Process Scheduler servers, Web Servers (Web Logic).
  • Five (5) years of managerial experience.
  • Working knowledge of server hardware, programming languages, and networking devices.
  • Excellent presentation, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Must possess a valid New Jersey dr iving license.
