Title:Part-time Instructors in Public Speaking/Oral Communication

Position Summary:The Department ofHumanities and Social Sciences at the New Jersey Institute of Technology iscurrently enhancing its emphasis on undergraduate training in public speakingand oral communication and is seeking to recruit several part-timeinstructional staff to contribute to the delivery of courses focusing onpresentation skills, public narrative, active listening, and professionaldevelopment. Opportunities are available for face-to-face class meetings atdifferent hours of the day and days of the week (including evenings) for thefall semester.
Essential Functions:Essential functions include submitting a syllabus atthe beginning of the semester, delivering lectures and/or facilitatingactivities to engage students at all class meetings, assigning written coursework and grading it in a timely manner, providing ongoing feedback and assigningfinal grades at the end of the semester.
Additional Functions:Availability outside of scheduled class time to meetwith students.
Prerequisite Qualifications:- Applicants should hold a minimum of a Master’sdegree in business education, public administration, professional communication/development,performance studies, or a related field and are expected to follow courserequirements and adhere to academic integrity policies.
- At the university's discretion, theeducation and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate candemonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination ofeducation and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success inthe position.
