High School Summer School -Assistant Teacher / Para Professional
The following job duties and responsibilities are essential functions of the NHPS summer school Assistant Teacher / Paraprofessional position, in addition to any duties as may be assigned by the building lead or program director for the duration of the program :
- Assist teachers to implement the NHPS Summer Program
- Provides 1-1 and small group pull out support for students who are struggling with coursework.
- Pushes into classrooms to support instruction and classroom climate in classrooms
- Provides emergency classroom coverage
- Small groups or individual instruction and discussions, and reviewing classwork.
- Assist teachers and students with transitions, such as lunch in the cafeteria and any time requiring students to leave the classroom.
- Assist the teacher in documenting student progress.
- Experience with technology to assist teachers and students.
- Collaborative communication and interpersonal skills
- Requirements : Associate Degree or 60 college credits or receive a qualifying score on the ParaPro Assessment, or existing NHPS Assistant Teacher
- Compensation : $15.69 per hour
