New Hanover County's Health department is seeking an experienced nursing professional to join their team as a Public Health School Nurse. This is a 10 month, part time position working 32 hours per week. School nurses provide skilled nursing services to the students of a New Hanover County schools. Duties include identification of and planning for students with acute and/or chronic health care needs, provision of emergency care, medication administration, screening/referral/follow-up, prevention and control of communicable disease, provide health promotion and counseling, teach health related classes, assist with strategies to improve the school health program, and maintenance of school health records.

Required Education and Experience:
Bachelors Degree in Nursing
OR Associate's Degree in Nursing
OR graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing
1 year of professional nursing experience
