The NHC Department of Social Services is accepting applications for a Child Protective Services In-Home Social Worker. This Social Worker maintains regular face to face contact with children and families and is responsible for assessing all risk factors and well-being needs affecting children and developing a measurable, family specific, written services plan with the parents/caretakers to ensure the safety of children and address all the needs of the family per state standards and revise as necessary. This includes using community and agency resources to educate, empower, and strengthen families by utilizing Child and Family Team meetings, intra-agency team meetings, and referrals to appropriate services. In Home Social Workers complete case documentation and other service documents and are accountable for compliance with state, federal and agency established standards. They also complete administrative tasks during the completion of their case work as needed.
About Us:Minimum Qualifications:
MSW from an accredited school and 1 year of related social work experience;
or BSW from an accredited school of social work and 2 years of related social work experience;
or a four-year degree in a human services field with at least 15 semester hours in courses related to social work and 3 years of related social work experience;
or a four-year degree and 4 years of related social work experience.
Must have a valid Driver's License, good driving record, and own transportation at time of application. If Driver's License if outside NC, must have a valid North Carolina Driver’s License by first date of employment.
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
Note: Applicants with economic services caseworker or Probation/Parole Officer experience to count as social work experience, must have a minimum of two years of experience in order to be considered as a trainee. Experience counts as social work experience for one half the time up to one year maximum. For example, one year of experience equals six months of social work experience; two years of experience equals one year of social work experience; and ten years of experience equals five years of social worker experience.
Valid NC Driver's License and good driving record.
