Job Overview:
New England Orthopedic Surgeons is a physician owned private practice specializing in orthopedic care and is affiliated with Baystate Medical Center.

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Appointment Coordinator. As an Appointment Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Orthopedic office by managing patient appointments and providing exceptional customer service. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.

Duties:
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments using EMR software such as Athena
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
- Professionally and accurately triage all incoming calls from patients and healthcare providers.
- Maintain accurate records of appointments, cancellations, and rescheduling
- Coordinate with dental staff to ensure efficient patient flow
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to maintain patient confidentiality
- Assist with medical administrative support tasks as needed

Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a medical office setting is preferred
- Proficiency in using medical office software such as Athena is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Knowledge of medical scheduling procedures and terminology
- Familiarity with front desk operations in a healthcare environment
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and compliance
