JOB SUMMARY:

The In- House Custodian performs daily and periodic cleaning tasks in assigned areas in order to

maintain a clean, safe, and attractive environment for Students, visitors, and other staff members,

keep the Custodial Supervisor informed of incidents requiring actions and/or replacement, fill in

temporarily on other jobs as assigned by the Supervisor and perform daily and scheduled

housekeeping duties as required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Adheres to established procedures to provide a safe working environment including

complying with Osha, State, Local, Federal and NEC regulations.

2. Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting and emptying trash.

3. Stripping, scrubbing, rinsing, refinishing and buffing floors.

4. Extracting and/or bonneting carpet.

5. Removing spots in carpet and or hard floors.

6. Washing windows, walls, and light fixtures.

7. Cleaning and disinfecting restrooms fixtures, hardware, tile, mirrors, partitions, floors, etc.

8. Replace restrooms supplies as necessary.

9. Removing snow and spreading ice melt on sidewalks as needed.

10. Keeping the Supervisor informed of incidents requiring action and/or repair.

11. Properly cleans and maintains housekeeping equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experiences working in custodial field or floor maintenance.

2. Knowledge of floor care, tile, carpet and floor care equipment.

3. Skilled in operations of floor machines, buffers, extractors, wet vac and auto scrubber.

4. Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.

5. Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling greater than 50lbs.

6. Must be able to follow basic safety procedures and precautions due to physical risks and

exposure to hazardous chemicals.

7. Ability to operate machinery and power tools, including saws, snow blowers, snow brooms

and basic hand and power tools.
