New Dawn Charter High School will provide over-aged and under-credited students 15 - 21 years of age, including those who are English Language Learners and those with special needs, the opportunity to return to school and obtain a high school diploma through a rigorous NYSED standards-based education program.
*High-School Science Teacher Responsibilities

- Teaching Science and Science Regents Courses
- Mandatory development of lesson plans and assessments on the school’s software
- Working with other teachers for common planning
- Attending regularly scheduled PD sessions
- Utilizing prep time appropriately while utilizing data to inform instruction
- Participating on the School’s Data Team and conducting Regents prep.
- Working to improve relationships with students and improving the school culture
- Tracking student attendance, while maintaining a small mentoring group
- This individual will be responsible for calling their mentees and absent students.
- You will work cooperatively with the staff, faculty, and administration of the School
- In addition devote your best efforts and loyalty to performing your duties as assigned or prescribed by the Principal of the School.
Qualifications

- Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field required; advanced degree in education a plus.
- NYS Certification required
- Minimum 2 years of teaching experience; prior urban teaching experience a plus.
- Commitment to ensuring academic success for all students.
- Excellent teamwork, work ethic, and organizational skills.
- Communicate effectively in English, both orally and verbally.
- Possess excellent integrity, a gentle spirit, and demonstrate strong moral character and initiative.
- Demonstrate technological abilities: word processing, data management, and informational retrieval.
- Maintain ongoing professional development.
- Submit a background checks through the New York State Department of Education.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
