This is a responsible, full-time maintenance staff support position in which the incumbent performs a variety of maintenance and repair tasks (plumbing, carpentry, electrical, landscaping) on buildings, apartments, grounds, and equipment. The incumbent will be responsible for answering all calls between 4 p.m. and midnight as well as working in vacant apartments. This position is not year-round and will switch from the day to night shift for a portion of the year.

Basic knowledge of the heating, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry trades is required. The successful candidate shall be skilled in the performance of basic maintenance and repairs of buildings, grounds and equipment, and shall have a working knowledge of the materials and equipment used for such maintenance and repairs. The incumbent will be expected to be fit to perform manual work and be able to work in unpleasant conditions such as inclement weather, infested spaces, and extreme temperatures. Some manual dexterity is called for in the performance of work tasks, and possession of a valid Massachusetts driver’s license and the ability to operate motor vehicles is also a requisite of the position.

Pay: $18.73 - $22.56 per hour
