JOB MISSION:

New Balance’s Financial Analyst position will be responsible for management reporting, as well as other close, forecast, and ad hoc reporting requests and projects to support the Direct-To-Consumer Team. This position will support various business areas as it relates to global e-commerce and retail, providing analysis and reporting for actuals, forecast and budget through use of financial and business analytics tools.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reporting & Analytics:
    • Prepare monthly forecast, causals and risks and opportunities for assigned cost centers
    • Budgeting and forecasting: lead annual budget as well as monthly forecast process and then monitor delivery of key financial targets through robust and regular performance reviews with business stakeholders, taking early action when deviations occur specific to Global DTC cost centers.
    • Communication out of all month end actual and forecast results to key stakeholders
  • Month end close activities (journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and headcount analysis)
  • Work closely with commercial teams and the IT department to develop and maintain analytical dashboarding relevant to the direct-to-consumer business.
  • Provide project support to senior management
  • Be prepared to support other Regional ad hoc assignments as needed

KEY CUSTOMERS

  • Global Direct to Consumer commercial teams and finance counterparts
  • Senior leaders of the SG&A supported area’s
  • Cost Center Managers from various departments which will include:
    • Global Visual Merchandising
    • Global Retail & Real Estate
    • Global Ecommerce
    • DTC Retail Systems
    • IT Consumer Experience Strategy

MEASURES OF SUCCESS

  • Thorough and timely completion of the accountabilities listed above
  • Key customers have the analysis and tools they need to manage their business
  • Demonstrate learning of the NB cost center structure as well as systems (i.e. Oracle, D365)
  • Processes are continuously challenged for accuracy and operational improvement
  • Models understanding of “big picture” financials
  • Ability to operate in a matrix organization and develop good working relationships across many functions, regions and distribution channels.

REPORTING STRUCTURE

  • Reports to Global DTC Finance Manager within the Global DTC Finance team that rolls up into the larger International Finance team based in Boston, MA

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Business or Finance preferred)
  • 2-3 years’ minimum experience with forecasting, budgeting, cost center management
  • High proficiency with computer software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Power BI or similar business intelligence/analytical tool knowledge preferred
  • Ability to multitask in order to meet tight timelines
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to work well in cross functional teams
  • Confident, self-starter who can multi-task, and think proactively.
  • Exhibits strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to navigate and be flexible with hybrid working (office and remote)
