New Alternatives for Children, Inc. is Hiring a Manager of Marketing and Communications Near New York, NY

New Alternatives for Children, Inc. (NAC) is an award-winning not-for-profit child welfare agency in Midtown Manhattan, with a satellite Bronx office, dedicated to serving children and families with medical complexity, chronic health conditions, significant disabilities and behavioral challenges. NAC is currently seeking a Manager of Marketing and Communications to join it’s Development Team.

· Title of Position: Manager of Marketing and Communications

· Position Type: Full Time.

· Pay Range: $60,000 - $70,000 per year

· Location: 825 Seventh Avenue, New York, NY 10019

· Department: Development

· Hours: 9am – 5pm.Evening and weekend hours may be required on occasion. NAC operates on a hybrid work schedule, with a minimum of 3 days per week on-site. Additional time on-site may be required.

RESPONSIBILITY: Work in collaboration with the Development team to design, write and produce marketing and communications materials for digital and print mediums. Manage NAC’s online fundraising and communications initiatives. Maintain and update agency website. Assist with all aspects of fundraising event planning and production. A qualified candidate will have both graphic design skills and marketing experience.

DUTIES:

Design & Marketing– 50%

  • Develop marketing content and maintain editorial calendar. Manage all marketing projects in Trello or other project management software.
  • Design and produce print marketing and fundraising materials, including program brochures, Benefit Gala material, NAC Junior Board Benefit materials, direct mail solicitations, newsletters, marketing emails and other marketing and special event materials.
  • Manage online marketing and fundraising campaigns. Design, write, edit and proof on-line email solicitations, e-newsletters, and other donor cultivation emails, including editing images, videos and other multimedia content. Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge marketing platform or similar needed. Support on-line campaigns with off-line strategies, especially surrounding special events and seasonal appeals. Grow NAC’s email housefile by collecting information from on and off-line donations, special event attendees and volunteers. Utilize multi-channel fundraising and outreach strategy to ensure consistent branding, messaging and communication across different platforms. Analyze online fundraising reports to determine effectiveness of current strategies. Donor stewardship in the form of segmented campaigns, thank-you letters and other materials.
  • Maintain marketing content, photos and client story files.

Communications – 20%

  • Act as liaison with NAC program staff, Volunteers Department and Development staff to ensure program and client related content is developed, including the NAC storybank.
  • Act as Liaison for NAC Junior Board, to strategize and assist in creating a Junior Board Development Plan, marketing and digital content, and a social media presence. Participate in Junior Board strategic planning, membership cultivation, social media, and fundraising events.

Website & Social Media – 15%

· Maintain, update and promote NacKidsCan.org and grow NAC’s online presence. Update written and visual content on website for special events, news, program updates, notifications of awards, etc. to maintain accuracy and consistency.

· Supervise NAC’s Social Media Assistant and provide strategic direction for content on NAC’s Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram accounts, as well as help identify social media and other digital strategies that can assist with donor engagement and stewardship.

Event Planning – 15%

  • Assist the Development team with all aspects of event planning and production, including NAC’s Annual Gala Benefit, Women for Women Luncheon, Donor Cultivation events, and Junior Board fundraising events.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Looking for the right candidate who is a team player, can multi-task, think outside the box, work well under pressure, and has a sense of humor.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area with excellent project management, writing, design, communications, and organizing skills.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in fundraising or marketing, including online marketing, with strong graphic design skills.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, InDesign and Contribute) required.
  • Candidates should be familiar with Wordpress, HTML, and Raiser’s Edge marketing platform or similar. Interest in public relations and health and social services field helpful.
