Job Summary & Responsibilities

  • Nevro is seeking an experienced Instructional Designer to develop learning content for instructor led, virtual instructor led, instructional video tutorials and eLearning content. This role supports the Learning & Development (L&D) team, in Nevro’s Commercial Sales Department.
  • Primary duties include collaborating with SMEs to define content for new courses, refreshing of out-of-date courses, creating additional learning support materials and learning paths.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent; a Masters in Instructional Design a plus.
  • A minimum of 4-5 years of progressive experience leading course development in a corporate learning environment, preferably for product training or sales enablement function.
  • Independently perform instructional design tasks such as performance needs analysis, performance objectives and evaluation methods.
  • Provide direct creative and instructional design support to the L&D team in the development of eLearning courses, instructor guides, training content, instructional videos, and job aids.
  • Provide instructional strategy recommendations based on content type and complexity.
  • Minimum 4 years of demonstrated, progressive experience designing and developing eLearning content using tools such as Articulate Rise and Storyline.
  • Highly proficient in instructional video creation and editing tools such as Adobe Premier Pro, Camtasia, etc. required. (Note: We use Camtasia.)
  • Proficient in audio editing tools to enhance instructional videos.
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and/or other design tools preferred.
  • Advanced PowerPoint skills required (Master slide templates, animation etc.)

Skills and Knowledge

  • Knowledge of modern adult learning theory with practical application. Able communicate instructional strategies and make recommendations for the best approach.
  • Good understanding of the instructional course development workflow with excellent project management skills. Able to work closing with Subject Matter Experts to move an instructional design project from needs assessment to delivery.
  • Able to apply creative approaches to problem solving and communications. Ability to simplify technical or complex information, processes and tasks into easy-to-understand language or graphics.
  • Strong esthetic design sense.
  • Strong facilitation and inquiry skills, to collaboratively work with team members, SMEs and business stakeholders to gather performance goals, key content and incorporate them into an effective training program which includes content assets such as eLearning courses, micro-learning courses, tutorials, job aids, and instructional videos.
  • Experienced in Learning Path and/or curriculum development.
  • Manage day-to-day activities of multiple assigned projects, communicate project updates, and proactively identify scope changes to assess impact.
  • Medical Device or Pharma experience is preferred.
  • Portfolio and work examples required.

Target Pay Range

$125,250 - $172,220The final starting salary offer to the successful candidate will be determined by evaluating several factors, such as education, experience, knowledge, skills, internal equity, alignment with market data, and geography. *Nevro is a multi-state employer, so the target pay range may increase or decrease depending on the city/state.
