Job Description
Nevada State University (NS) invites applications for the position of Admissions & Records Assistant 3. The Admissions & Records Assistant 3 will support the Office of the Registrar and its front desk. This position will assist students and public inquiries and maintain student records which requires an efficient, congenial person with a professional attitude and good customer service skills. This position also supervisors and provides trainings to student employees. Interpersonal, communication, organizational skills and confidentiality are essential for the successful job performance.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Manage the front desk operations of the Office of the Registrar including responding to students, staff, and other educational institutions in a timely manner, assist students with enrollment issues, maintaining student records and resolving issues and complaints. Using myNSC and OnBase to assist students and ensure student records are accurate.
  • Reference, retain, recall and apply NS and Nevada System of Higher Education policies and procedures as it relates to registration and student records.
  • Review and process registration forms including, but not limited to, transcript and enrollment verification request, students' personal information update, add/change of majors or minors, etc.
  • Updating, maintaining, and troubleshooting the Registrar's webpage and FAQs.
  • Supervise student employees including hiring, training, providing daily supervisions and assignment of duties and processing time entries.
  • Maintain budget records including assisting with budget preparation, preparing deposits documents, prepare travel documents, and ordering supplies. Using Workday to create Purchase Orders, Verify Procurement, etc.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of clerical experience, two years of which was in a college admissions and/or records office or relevant student services area which included records maintenance, public/customer relations, evaluation of detailed information and documents, and the explanation of complex policies and procedures; OR one year of experience as an Admissions & Records Assistant II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (NS does not sponsor employment-related visas).

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate Degree.
  • Previous experience working with Student Information Systems preferably PeopleSoft.
  • Experience working with diverse populations.
  • Experience using educational technology.
  • Excellent Customer Service skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
  • Demonstrate competency with computer applications and databases.
  • Organized, detailed orientated, and a problem solver.
Salary & Benefits
Budgeted salary for this position is $41,634.72. Nevada State University offers excellent benefits, including a generous vacation & sick benefits, 12 paid holidays, educational benefits, a choice between three health insurance plans that can be supplemented with flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts, and an excellent pension retirement plan through the Public Employees' Retirement System of Nevada. The plan requires employees to withhold 17.5% of the budgeted salary toward retirement with an equal employer match of 17.5%. No relocation assistance is provided for this position.
The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
