Nevada School District is Hiring a Food Service Worker Near Nevada, IA

Food Service Worker at the High School
Schedule: Monday - Friday during the school year: 7:00am to 2:00pm - Start time flexible.Nevada Community School District is currently seeking a Food Service General Worker to join our team in the high school kitchen. This position will be responsible for assisting in the cooking and preparing of the food served daily. The Food Service General Worker will contribute to the overall success of the Nevada Nutrition Department. A successful candidate must display outstanding customer service and food production knowledge. Responsibilities 

  1. Assist in cooking, preparing and the serving of daily meals from the planned menu
  2. Assist with cleaning and following food safety procedures
  3. Ability to assist in filling out proper production records and food safety logs
  4. Maintain compliance with federal regulations regarding all School Lunch Programs
  5. Interact with all personnel, students, building patrons, federal/state inspectors, vendors and delivery persons with a positive can do attitude.
  6. Ability to operate all kitchen equipment 
  7. Must be able to lift 30 lbs and stand on your feet for long periods of time
  8. Perform other duties as assigned
Education / Experience
  1. High school diploma / GED 
  2. Experience in high volume food production
  3. ServSafe Certification - Highly Recommended
