Nevada Fire Protection is Hiring an Alarm Technician Near Las Vegas, NV

Nevada Fire Protection is a large multi-state fire protection contractor, specializing in multi-family, mixed-use and commercial new construction. Our Nevada location is looking to hire qualified fire alarm technicians to join our team. As a Fire Alarm Technician, you will install or supervise the installation of conduit, wire, devices and other equipment associated with the fire alarm and other low voltage systems when necessary.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform job installation per engineered drawings.
  • Provide working knowledge of installed fire alarm systems.
  • Perform system testing and troubleshooting.
  • Understand all phases of construction, maintain project documentation and create red-lined field drawings per company policies and procedures.
  • Program small to large fire systems, including system integration.
  • Adhere to and participate in all company, customer and industry quality and safety standards and regulations.
  • Guides, assists and supports field related to installation drawings and field changes.
  • Performs check out, systems start-up, programming and testing of installed systems.
  • Performs task related to panel fabrication.
  • Coordinates with or advises Supervisor about the requirements for material and supplies to ensure timely delivery to the job site.
  • Provides input and assists with the preparation of as-built drawings and project close out.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Work history must contain minimum 3 years’ experience in fire alarm industry with State Fire Marshal Certifications.
  • Must be knowledgeable with state, local jurisdiction codes & guidelines as well as NFPA72.
  • Must have F Card
  • Must be self-motivated, positive in approach, and present a professional image.
  • Must possess critical thinking skills as well as the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentation(s).
  • Must be able to act as the company liaison and interface with the customer representative(s).
  • Must have proven skill level to interpret blueprints and other service documents, including but not limited to, specifications, reporting and quality requirements.
  • Must be able to travel within the branch territory and/or regional territory as needed.
  • Must be able to work at certain heights, off a ladder and in confined spaces, lift to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
