Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Receptionist/Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in patient service and possess knowledge of medical office procedures. This position requires proficiency in EMR system and other office software. The Medical Receptionist/Medical Assistant will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office and providing excellent customer service to our patients.
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar
- Answer phone calls, take messages, and provide information to callers
- Verify patient insurance information and collect co-pays or payments
- Assist with patient check-in and check-out processes
- Maintain patient records and ensure accuracy of information
- Handle medical records requests in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Assist healthcare providers with administrative tasks as needed
- Manage office supplies and maintain a clean and organized reception area
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred
- Previous experience working in a medical or dental office setting is highly desirable
- Proficiency in using an electronic medical record system
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with phone systems and ability to handle high call volumes
This position handles outgoing referrals as well so you will interact with many reps to gain access to local services for our patients.
Cross trained to do all clinical functions as well
