POSITION SUMMARY:
NeuroDiagnostic Laboratories seeks a dynamic and experienced Medical Assistant to partner with our physicians in our sleep and neurodiagnostic clinics. This position oversees all aspects of patient interaction to ensure a positive experience in our clinic. The ideal candidate will have stellar customer service and organizational skills with at least three years of medical assistance experience. The candidate will beresponsible for assisting the physician with patient care including taking vital signs, obtaining the patient’s medical history and chief complaint; assisting with any in-office testing including neuro and sleep diagnostics (in-lab or at-home sleep studies, and neuro testing: EMG, EEG, and VNG). Other responsibilities include patient education on testing plans and recommended follow-on procedures and completion of referring physician communication and documentation.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· Sleep and Neurodiagnostic experience preferred
· Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program
· Continuous work in the medical field

RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Answer patient phone calls
· Escort patients to exam rooms in order of appointment times
· Obtain a short history and vital signs as required by the patient’s chief complaint. Obtain or update the medication list if necessary
· Set up exam room according to scheduled procedure or anticipate physician’s needs if non-scheduled procedure is likely
· Assist physician with in-office procedures
· Inform the patient as required after the physician establishes the testing plan.
· Ensure that the patient understands the testing plan
· Clean exam rooms after patient visits
· Stock all exam rooms
· Perform all duties related to medical instrument cleaning and sterilization
· Notify clinical staff of supplies needed to avoid shortages
· Communicate with the referring physician about the patient experience and test results as documented by the physician
· Send RX to DME company and follow up to ensure patients receives treatment
· Confirm patient's upcoming appointment
· Perform other duties and tasks as needed within the scope of practice
COMPENSATION: Comprises a combination of hourly pay rate.
