About the Role:
Serves as a "go-to" resources for the function and is responsible for the preparation of the Company's tax accounting, research tax credits documentation and compliance, as well as assisting the tax director with identifying and pursuing planning opportunities and implementing strategic tax initiatives. Works independently to analyze and resolve highly complex tax issues with internal and external contacts. Oversees property, Sales and Use tax filings._
Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):Tax Provision
Assist in the detailed preparation and review of the Company's quarterly and annual tax provision, working closely with the GAAP and tax teams to ensure timely and accurate preparation of tax entries and footnote disclosures
Prepare analysis, schedules, reconciliations, memos, and disclosures for the financial reporting of income taxes in accordance with ASC 740
Review current and deferred income tax balances, review of uncertain tax positions and the application of other complex tax accounting rules related to valuation allowances, acquisition accounting, equity compensation, intra-period tax allocations, interim reporting, etc. This also involves assisting with the preparation of required income tax disclosures pursuant to SEC regulations
Assist with the preparation and review of ASC 718 support documentation and related financial statement disclosures. In addition, contribute to the preparation and review of supporting schedules for the equity compensation GAAP and tax balances related to the Company's financial statement preparation and review
May oversee compliance with internal controls for the financial reporting of income taxes. Key steps include making sure internal controls are relevant, properly defined, effectively designed and well documented. Work directly with internal/external audit teams to make sure control testing is satisfied on a quarterly and annual basis
Ensure compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes Oxley Act; assist in ensuring tax reporting systems are complete and functioning as designed to prevent errors in financial reporting
Review and interpret new or revised tax laws and work to effectively implement ways to incorporate and capture the impact of those law changes in the provision process
Help ensure complete and accurate SEC related tax disclosures, executing changes necessary to accommodate new SEC or GAAP pronouncements and the related impact on the Company's tax provision
Tax Compliance
Assist with the implementation of income tax software and ultimately the preparation of federal and state tax returns in-house
Accountable for the accuracy of the quarterly and annual federal and state tax compliance
Coordinate with subject matter experts and conduct research/studies on a broad range of tax matters to support positions taken on tax returns (e.g. R&D Tax Credit, E&P studies, 382 studies, etc.)
Participates in the collaborative review of the return to provision analysis
Responsible for U.S. federal and state estimated tax payments and state audit/notice management
Independently prepares Sales and Use property tax returns
May lead the internal review, analysis and confirmation of all tax related issues
General
Helps to drive continuous improvement of quarterly and annual provision and compliance processes
May lead tax analytics, modeling and proposals for new planning opportunities
Ensures that all tax activities align with Company plans, goals and objectives
Manage resources, budgets, and due dates
Other duties as assigned
BS/BA degree in Accounting or Finance and 6 years of relevant experience OR
Master's degree in Taxation or CPA preferred and 4 years of relevant experience
Has knowledge of best practices in the functional discipline and familiarity with the broader underlying concepts of related business disciplines
Works to improve tools and processes within functional area
Developing reputation inside the company as it relates to area of expertise
Ability to work as part of and lead multiple teams
Exhibits leadership skill and ability, typically leads lower levels and/or indirect teams.
Excellent computer skills
Excellent communications, problem-solving, analytical thinking skills.

Excellent analytical and technical tax skills, strong knowledge of ASC 740 and US GAAP
Strong working knowledge of federal and state tax principles
Proven ability to balance tax technical knowledge with practical application of tax rules
Demonstrated experience with process optimization and internal controls
Corporate income tax experience in private industry and/or public accounting is preferred

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $115,000.00-$166,750.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 30% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.Full Time
