The Commercial Development Manager drives value by setting and driving Sales strategy and results. The individual leader will possess a strong understanding of the business and serve as a key voice to stakeholders. He/she/they will gather and analyze information to deliver the annual operating plan. The role is a key connection point across all functions including Sales, Category, Marketing, Pricing, Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Supply Chain, and Finance. This leader will regularly communicate complex information up, down, and across the company, in large and small settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership
- Educates cross-functional teams on requirements of partners, customers, and consumers.
- Communicates vision, strategy, and tactics to stakeholders up, down, and across the company.
- Has strong self-awareness, is a self-starter, and leads autonomously.
- Ability to prioritize activities and orchestrate resources for efficiency and effectiveness.
- Demonstrates agility with an ability to quickly adapt to change and pivot, as needed.
- Possess a strong focus on needs of customers and consumers.
Planning and Execution
- Leads the Go-To-Market strategy to achieve all AOP (annual operating plan) and Sales objectives.
- Participates and/or leads projects as needed.
- Understands key business drivers of customers to identify opportunities for growth.
- Leverages customer, category, channel/segment, and insights to provide direct input into the P&L.
- Gathers Sales and customer signals in order to improve forecast accuracy.
- Acts as key contributor in forecasting process, representing Sales perspective.
- Develops and sustains processes to support Joint Business Plan (JBP), Request For Proposal (RFP), and Request For Information (RFI) for Sales.
Experience:
- 5 years experience in Sales, Category, Marketing and/or related function within a matrixed company
- Experience executing sales product strategy and/or sales plans
- Experience managing and leading joint business plans with commercial customers
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and PowerBI skills
- Experience and understanding of the Foodservice and Office Coffee channels, preferred
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree, required
- Possesses business and financial acumen
- Demonstrates strong end-to-end thinking
- Ability to travel up to 10-15%
