Medical Assistant / Scheduler

*Job pay based on experience

We are looking for someone who has experience with scheduling and preferably also as a Medical Assistant.

As a Medical Assistant/Scheduler you will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office/hospital. You will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner.

Primary Responsibilities but not limited to:

• Back office appointment scheduling will be primary
• Fill in available appointment slots with patients pending appointments
• Update and file medical records and insurance reports
• Provide documentation on Athena and other softwares
• Organize and prioritize patient wait lists
• Interview patients and document basic medical history
• Arrange hospital admissions and laboratory services
• Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
• Handle receivable and payable accounts and keep financial records
• Travel to our different locations as deemed necessary- 77065, 77070, 77433

Skills

• Proven working experience as a medical assistant or medical secretary
• Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
• Social perceptiveness and service oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and planning skills
• Recommended experience in MS Office and Excel; and Athena software
• Degree in medical assistance

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37 – 40 per week
