Nemours is seeking a Director of Nursing – Research and Education for our Orlando hospital! The nursing director co-creates a culture of excellence, innovation and transformation with professional nurses, other leaders and Associates. The nursing director is responsible for the design and implementation of nursing research programs, the oversight and coordination of nursing research projects and the collaboration with healthcare professionals and researchers to advance nursing knowledge. The nursing director will lead and advance the hospital’s Nursing Professional Excellence team. This will include the development and implementation of educational programs for patient care services, leadership in designing and updating nursing curriculum and the oversight of the training and development staff. The nursing director will serve as the organization’s Magnet Program Director and will lead the pursuit of Magnet designation. 

Qualifications:

Educational Background:

• Master's required. Doctoral degree in Nursing or a related field preferred. 
• Specialization in nursing research or education is preferred.

Experience:

• Recent experience in nursing research and/or education.
• Leadership experience in a healthcare or academic setting.

Licensure and Certification:

• Current Florida or compact RN license.
• American Heart Association BLS required
• Certification in nursing education or research is an asset.
