Nelts, Inc. is Hiring a Financial Controller Near London, CT

Description:

NELTS, Inc is leading exterior services provider based in the Northeast with operations along the entire east coast.

We are looking for an experienced financial controller to undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. The ideal candidate has experience collaborating with executive management and managing a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance
  • Support month-end and year-end close process
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Additional controller duties as necessary
  • Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results
  • Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
  • Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
  • Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
  • Manage accounting assistants and bookkeepers
  • Participate in financial standards setting and in forecast process
  • Provide input into department’s goal setting process
  • Assist with tax audits and tax returns
  • Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance
  • Plan, assign and review staff’s work
  • Support month-end and year-end close process
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP principles
  • Liaise with our executive team to improve financial procedures
  • Developing yearly and monthly budget, budget and profit analysis

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • The current headquarters is in Columbia, CT, but the location may change to New London County or the Southern RI area

Experience:

  • Financial Controller: 3 years (Required)
  • MUST HAVE NETSUITE ORACLE AND QUICKBOOKS ONLINE EXPERIENCE
