We are looking for an experienced concrete / masonry crew leader to help us establish an internal foundation, poured wall and flatwork team. You will manage those scopes of our projects. Your job will entail working in diverse settings to produce steady and functional infrastructure and products. A mason is an individual with great hand dexterity and an eye for detail. The ideal candidate will have good knowledge of cementitious materials. Working with little supervision while following all health and safety standards is essential. The goal is to contribute to the construction and maintenance of strong and long-lasting high quality buildings and products.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirements
• Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed
• Form, pour and finish cementitious material according to measurements
  • Foundations, poured or ICF walls and flat work for new custom homes, additions, decks, patios, pool surrounds and driveways 
• Inspect and conduct repairs or maintenance
• Build scaffolding and other construction structures

Skills

• Proven experience as mason
• Hands-on experience in working with cementicious materials
• Excellent understanding of masonry techniques and methods of installation and construction
• Proficient in using power, electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools 
• Ability to read technical documents and drawings
• Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times
• Good knowledge of English
• Good understanding of basic math
• Good physical condition and endurance
• High school diploma; Successful completion of a masonry apprenticeship program or similar on the job training is required

Schedule

• we work at least 8 hour days
• OT is available and often required but 10 to 12 hour days with Fridays and Saturdays off is an option

This is a roll up your shirt sleeves and get your hands dirty position. Meaning you are going to be setting the tempo for the masonry portion of the company.

You must know what it takes to do the work so that you know the tasks and thus materials and how much time things take. Every project we do is 100% custom and thus you can't rely on standards. You must know the materials and time needed to do a task.
