Position Overview:
The Violence Reduction Engagement Coordinator is a crucial member of the Neighborhood
Resilience Project's Violence Reduction team, responsible for fostering community engagement,
facilitating communication, and supporting the implementation of violence reduction initiatives.
This position involves close collaboration with diverse stakeholders, including community
members, organizations, government agencies, and internal teams, under the guidance of the
Director of Violence Reduction. The Engagement Coordinator will play a key role in organizing
community events, gathering input, data, and ensuring effective communication channels to
build trust and ownership within the communities served.
Key Responsibilities:
● Build and maintain strong relationships with community members, local organizations,
and government agencies, and key stakeholders to actively involve them in violence
reduction initiatives.
● Organize community events, forums, and workshops to gather feedback, share
information, and collaboratively develop tailored violence reduction strategies.
● Attend meetings with external partners, community groups, and stakeholders to
represent the Violence Reduction team and gather input for program improvement.
● Facilitate dialogue between community members and relevant stakeholders, fostering a
sense of shared responsibility for neighborhood safety.
● Collect and compile community input and feedback to inform data-driven
decision-making within the Violence Reduction team.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field; Or relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a
degree.
Experience in community engagement, event coordination, or related roles within violence
prevention initiatives.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, external partners, and community
stakeholders.
Commitment to promoting community involvement, empowerment, and violence reduction.
Familiarity with trauma-informed practices and community-based approaches.
