We serve over 800 students across two campuses predominantly from the neighborhoods of Dorchester, Roxbury and Mattapan. As a Student Support Coordinator you care deeply about the success of your staff and provide observation and feedback and ongoing professional development to support their growth in the field. You understand the importance of using data-informed practices to best serve the needs of our students’ and their families and you are excited about implementing strong systems and procedures. You have at 3 years of experience in the field of mental health, supporting children and families. You believe that all people do well when they have the right structures in place and the environment is set up for their success.Someone coming to us with two years of previous experience and a master’s degree can expect to make $74,286. Duties and ResponsibilitiesManagement of StaffScreen, interview, and observe applicants for counseling positions and, in collaboration with the Director of Student Services, make determinations about hiring for open positions each year.Provide direct supervision to behavioral aides, school based counselors, counseling interns, nurses, and TSP specialists. Conduct observations in compliance with NHCS observation schedule and provide both informal feedback as well as formal evaluations (MOY, EOY).Provide training and professional development opportunities for both teachers and support staff in areas such as social emotional learning, trauma informed teaching and classroom management, etc.Facilitate regular team meetings with counseling staff, both internal and consultants.Management of Systems / ProceduresOversee Student Support Team (SST) referral process including scheduling and staffing meetings and follow-up.Coordinate the SST core team members via weekly meetings to discuss ongoing student or systems needs.Maintain SST tracker and counseling roster spreadsheet with up-to-date edits, additions, and student data.Development and maintenance of SST system protocols and procedures (e.g., risk assessments, return from hospitalization, reports of abuse and neglect, support for students in crisis, etc.)Lead implementation of social emotional learning (SEL) programming in all grades including staffing, feedback, accountability, and thought partnering on curriculum.Lead implementation and interpretation of SEL assessment process and facilitate data integration with staff.Ensure appropriate delivery of therapeutic services.Oversee management and usage of counseling related materials and resources.Act as liaison between NHCS and social service agencies including DCF, outside counselors, and SEL partners.Manage proper maintenance of DCF and abuse documentation.Participate as a member of school-based teams and provide insight from an SST perspective.Is this You?You are committed to cultivating anti-racist, culturally responsive and restorative practices;You have earned a Master’s degree and a License in Social Work, School Counseling, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field and hold a license in that field;You believe in a Warm Demanding ethos where the two phrases, “We care about you” and “We have the highest expectations for you” go hand in hand.You have strong leadership and administrative management skills and the capacity to lead administrative teams;You will thrive in a community in which all members demonstrate accountability, flexibility, humor, effort, responsibility, respect and hope;You are able to start as soon as possible or by Monday, August 12, 2024.Neighborhood House Charter School (NHCS) is committed to being an anti-racist organization.
