Neighborhood Healthcare is Hiring a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, Clinical Trials Near Escondido, CA

ROLE OVERVIEW and PURPOSE

The Nurse Practitioner works to support the mission and vision of Neighborhood Healthcare (NHC) by providing excellent patient-centered care and services within a dynamic team environment. This role will provide general medical care and treatment to patients under the direction of providers. In addition, this role will act as a Sub Investigator to Neighborhood Healthcare’s Institute of Health clinical trials.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines/instructions from providers and NHC practice protocols
  • Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient

clinical problems and health care needs

  • Records physical findings and formulates plan and prognosis based on patient’s

condition

  • Discusses cases with providers and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plans
  • Submits health care plans and goals of individual patients for periodic review and evaluation by providers
  • Prescribes or recommends drugs or other forms of treatment to patients, such as physical therapy, inhalations therapy, or related therapeutic procedures
  • Refers patients to providers for consultation or specialized health resources for treatment
  • Keeps informed and promotes organizational activities and team goals aligned to the NHC mission and vision
  • Identifies training needs and promotes developmental activities for the team
  • Performs duties in accordance with the NP Supervisory Agreement
  • Impacts patient experiences by demonstrating courteous and helpful behavior and a commitment to accuracy
  • Shares accountability for overall patient health outcomes by working in coordination with care teams
  • Operates to instill confidence in our care and in our facilities to patients, fellow employees, and other stakeholders

Clinical Trial:

  • Serves as a Sub-Investigator clinician for clinical trials by ensuring all elements of clinical trials work and completed in compliance with standard operating procedures
  • Performs study-related decisions in compliance with ethical conduct of studies and IRB approved protocols
  • Completes study documentation in accordance with the study specific requirements
  • Documents all findings in subject specific source documents
  • Provides ongoing assessments of the study subject/patient to identify adverse events, including providing medical management, as needed
  • Ensures proper documentation and reporting of all adverse events and serious adverse events
  • Performs physical examinations as part the screening evaluation and active study conduct
  • Communicates with clinical trial sponsors and auditors, as requested
  • Reviews investigator’s brochure prior to performing study related activities
  • Participates in on-call activities to ensure adequate medical coverage, as needed
  • Monitors safety and well-being of study participants at all times
  • Delegates study responsibilities as appropriate to trained study staff

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Master’s degree in nursing required
  • California Nurse Practitioner and Registered Nursing license in good standing is required
  • Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Certification or ability to acquire upon hire
  • Experience working with clinical trials preferred

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including superior composition, typing and proofreading skills
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Knowledgeable about and experience with GCP/ICH guidelines, Clinic SOPs, QA/QC procedures, and Investigator 1572 Form
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent planning and organizational ability
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
  • Ability to work with highly confidential information in a professional and ethical manner

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift/carry 15 lbs/weight
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time

COMPLIANCE (Safety & HIPPA)

  • Follows all safety procedures as outlined in Neighborhood Healthcare’s Illness and Injury Prevention Plan (IIPP) and report any injuries and/or unsafe conditions immediately
  • Maintains current knowledge of policies and procedures as they relate to safe work practices
  • Follows all safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
  • Uses appropriate body mechanics to ensure an injury free environment
  • Familiarity with location of nearest fire extinguisher and emergency exits
  • Follows all infection control procedures including blood-borne pathogen protocols
  • Maintains privacy of all patients, employee and volunteer information and access such information only on a need-to-know basis for business purposes
  • Complies with all regulations regarding corporate integrity and security obligations
  • Reports all behavior and/or activity that are unethical, fraudulent, or unlawful

Pay range: $147k to $199k per year, depending on experience. (DOE)
