The Medical Assistant will support various providers, advanced providers, and registered nurses to provide excellent patient-centered care and services within a dynamic team environment. This role will communicate with patients and performs clinical services to ensure high quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. This is a part-time(24 hours/week), temporary position expected to last through August, 2024. The proposed scheduled is M, W, Thurs (8am-5pm).Direct Patient CareCommunicates and performs clinical care services with patientsTakes patient vital signs and obtains patient intake informationPerforms clinical procedures such as blood draws, vaccines, nebulizer treatments, ear lavages, and EKGsDiscusses patient needs and provides education and resources to patients directlyEnsures exam rooms are stocked, cleaned, and set up for examinations and proceduresProvider and Team SupportCoordinates provider workflows to ensure efficient patient careEnsures provider has all pertinent information required for each patient visit including diagnostic images, labs and required screeningsAssists other providers and care teams in women's health, pediatrics and general medicine departments as neededClinical AdministrationUtilizes electronic health records to order, process and document clinical treatment plans for patient as directed by the providerConveys information to patients via telephone or email under the direction of a provider or Registered NurseProvides patient with requested documents after review to ensure forms are complete, accurate and executed by the providerCompletes ongoing/annual training for position complianceQualifications Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Valid MA certificate from an accredited program required. Valid BLS certification required upon hire.Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience preferred. Skills: Familiarity with medical procedures and terminology. Proficiency with electronic health records system experience preferred. Intermediate computer and data entry skills. Must use sound judgment to anticipate needs of patients and providers. Flexibility with changing priorities and time sensitive deadlines. Use emotional and cultural intelligence to provide appropriate communication and patient care. Exemplify compassion to patients and team members. Ability to work with highly confidential information in a professional and ethical manner. Bilingual (English/Spanish) or (English/Arabic) highly preferred. Additional Requirements: Must have own watch with a second hand to count the pulse rate per minute and the respiratory rate per minute. Must wear the watch at all times while working. Pay range: $23.00 - $32.55 per hour, depending on experience.
