Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Health Information Technician to join our team. As a Health Information Technician, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining medical records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Your role will be crucial in supporting healthcare providers in delivering quality patient care.

Duties:

• Performs scanning of the paper health information record into the electronic health record following established guidelines
• Performs qualitative and quantitative analysis of document images to assure accuracy and legibility maintained
• Plan, develop, maintain, or operate a variety of health record indexes or storage and retrieval systems to collect, classify or analyze information
• Import documents from an electronic format into the electronic medical record
• Creates surgery billing tickets
• Send results to physician to review, when images and reports are both in EHR and Med-view
• Maintain task list to ensure patient results are in the chart
• Processes all outbound mail through the postage meter for mailing
• Manages all electronic faxes that enter NSPC, by following established guidelines
• Open, sort and deliver US and Interdepartmental mail
• Deliver and pick up mail daily to mailboxes and other designated areas

Qualifications:

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy laws
• Experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting is preferred

Skills:

• Experience using electronic health record (EHR) software for documentation and record keeping
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to review medical records for completeness and accuracy
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with healthcare providers and other team members
