Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services is Hiring an Opioid Remediation Program Coordinator Near Lincoln, NE

The State of Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services is seeking a motivated and dynamic individual to serve as the Opioid Remediation Program Coordinator. This position will play a crucial role in managing the Nebraska Opioid Recovery Fund, established pursuant to LB1124 Opioid Prevention & Treatment Act. The coordinator will serve as the primary point of contact for the fund and will work closely with the Nebraska Opioid Settlement Remediation Advisory Committee to ensure effective allocation and utilization of resources for opioid disorder prevention and treatment initiatives.

The Opioid Remediation Program Coordinator at the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Behavioral Health, plays a critical role in ensuring the proper utilization of funds in accordance with the Opioid Prevention & Treatment Act. This position involves project coordination focused on integrating public health, prevention, and treatment strategies through opioid settlement funds. The Coordinator will collaborate with various stakeholders, monitor opioid-related data, and provide leadership to the Opioid Remediation Advisory Committee.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate current and emerging projects that integrate public health, prevention, and treatment strategies through opioid settlement funds.
  • Collaborate with fiscal and other state agencies, as well as national opioid settlement administrators.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative community relationships to address community needs in line with Opioid Settlement parameters.
  • Facilitate and engage stakeholders in opiate remediation objectives.
  • Collect and analyze data in order to complete Opioid Settlement deliverables and reports.
  • Coordinate with statewide partners and funded recipients to enhance opioid prevention and response efforts in Nebraska.
  • Monitor opioid-related data, establish baseline data, and identify outcomes.
  • Provide leadership and administrative support to the Opioid Remediation Advisory Committee.
  • Attend staff meetings and community meetings, and disseminate appropriate information.
  • Coordinate meetings in compliance with Open Meetings Act.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, Public Health, Public Administration, or related human services field.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in social work, Public Health, Public Administration, or related human services field.
  • Experience working with behavioral health and/or community-based organizations.
  • Familiarity with the Nebraska Open Meetings Act.
  • Experience engaging diverse stakeholders and constituent.

Work Schedule:

Monday-Friday; 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM

Hiring Rate:

$25.061 Per Hour.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficiency in the Nebraska Open Meetings Act.
  • Strong facilitation skills.
  • Ability to engage stakeholders effectively.
  • Knowledge of substance use-related resources and efforts in Nebraska, particularly related to opioids.
  • Exceptional writing, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Keen attention to quality assurance and compliance.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects efficiently.
  • Aptitude for working in a political environment with diverse perspectives.
  • Ability to collaborate with external partners from varied backgrounds.
