Organization Mission:
National Dance Institute of New Mexico is founded with the knowledge that the arts have a unique power to engage and motivate children. The purpose of our distinctive programs is to help children develop discipline, a standard of excellence, and a belief in themselves that will carry over into all aspects of their lives.
Purpose of NDI New Mexico Apprentice Role:
The Outreach Dance Instructor is responsible for learning and delivering the NDI New Mexico curriculum and teaching methodology through our classes in the public schools, helping children and youth develop confidence and character through dance. Training takes place under the supervision of a master instructor in our award-winning curriculum and the core competencies of the NDI New Mexico pedagogy. Instructors are creative partners with a team of teaching artists and musicians to create choreography and lead public school students to success in their culminating performances. The Outreach Dance Instructor is responsible to their Program Artistic Director(s) for carrying out the mission and the policies of the organization.
The starting rate would be $20-30 per hour based on experience during the 6 to12-month training period, and that rate would increase as more responsibility is taken on when the instructor becomes versed in NDI NM’s methodology.
