Job Description:

The North Central Texas Council of Governments is searching for a Training Support Specialist to join the Regional Policy Academy. The purpose of this position is to support program functions by assisting with coordination and preparation for training classes, assisting with mandatory reporting to state agencies, and providing operational coordination. This position will also be involved in marketing efforts as needed. Other duties may include producing written correspondence, charts and reports for projects and providing professional support to the Program and our members.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provides customer service, greets visitors, answers calls, and fields questions, and directs requests to the appropriate individuals.
  • Processes information and communications using a variety of software, including word processing, presentation, database, spreadsheet, publishing, and web tools.
  • Assists in support of training classes by coordinating with instructors, ordering office supplies, monitoring enrollments, assist with registrations, monitoring evaluations, and assisting with submittal of required information to governmental reporting agencies.
  • Assists with fiscal support by monitoring budget and classifying expenditures according to grantor requirements.
  • Coordinates program activities by managing and disseminating information, providing administrative support, and ensuring compliance with procedures.
  • Coordinate with the team to sequence events effectively to achieve project goals, and perform program tasks.
  • Responsible for maintaining department records, including procedures for maintaining, storing, and destroying paper and electronic files.
  • Provides information to managers and other program staff by reviewing and updating monitoring systems, creating and maintaining databases and spreadsheets, and compiling and distributing sensitive documents.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Requires broad understanding of a general professional or technical field.
  • Associate degree
  • 3-5 year’s experience
  • Possess a valid state driver's license.

Compensation:

FLSA: Non- Exempt

Salary: $45,736.00-$73,177.00 depending on skills, qualifications and experience.

    • NCTCOG participates in a defined contribution plan as an alternative to Social Security. The defined contribution retirement plan provides retirement benefits for all eligible employees. NCTCOG contributes twelve percent (12%) of permanent full-time employees' gross salaries. Participating employees contribute six percent (6%) of gross salary. An employee becomes forty percent (40%) vested in NCTCOG's contributions after three full years of employment. An additional fifteen percent {15%) is vested for each additional year of employment. An employee becomes fully vested after seven years of employment.
