The Transportation Department is now accepting statements of interest from staff for the following position. This position is only open to Transportation Department staff.

Senior Transportation Planner – Sustainable Development

Seeking a Senior Transportation Planner to assume a leadership role in the Sustainable Development team. The individual in this position will manage and participate in the development and implementation of land-use and transportation projects that may include Sustainable Development Call for Projects oversight and tracking, the Blue-Green-Grey program, federal grant development and contract/program oversight, land banking, and various planning studies.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Coordinating efforts related to land-use and transportation projects
  • Developing and maintaining work scopes, project schedules, and budgets
  • Preparing and reviewing memorandums, letters, articles, executive summaries, studies, and technical reports
  • Organizing workshops and trainings
  • Developing scoring/evaluation criteria and scoring projects
  • Supporting various committees, public outreach, and events
  • Creating marketing and education outreach materials
  • Participating in the collection and analysis of data
  • Planning and attending meetings and events
  • Preparing and delivering oral presentations
  • Conducting peer reviews
  • Providing technical assistance to transportation partners and stakeholders
  • Supervising staff

This position requires at least three years of experience and a Bachelor's Degree in analytical, quantitative methods.
