NCTA seeks a Communications Specialist to support NCTA’s strategic communications function that drives awareness and engagement with the organization’s priorities. The successful candidate will be an important team member and responsible fordeveloping and promoting a variety of content across NCTA’s platforms in support of our advocacy mission. This position works closely with the team members to maintain a consistent and credible online presence via blogs, graphics, video and other creative content.

Essential Functions:

• Manages and maintains social media content for NCTA’s various properties, including assisting with paid media campaigns.
• Enhances the association’s presence on social media platforms, including assisting in the use of social listening and analytics tools to generate insights.
• Writes and researches high-quality content for NCTA.com on a regular basis.
• Assists in updating and managing web content for NCTA’s properties.
• Assists in drafting and distribution of email newsletters.
• Drafts media releases, advisories and other media-related information.
• Works alongside content creation team to generate new content ideas.
• Supports the Strategic Communications department in the execution of special projects.
• Continually monitors industry developments and news.
• Performs other duties as assigned. 

Background/Skills/Abilities Preferred:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in communications, advocacy, government or other relevant field.
• Experience using with social media platforms, Microsoft Office software required.
• Familiarity using a web CMS, email newsletter platforms and Adobe Creative Suite helpful. 
• Comfortable juggling multiple tasks; ability to prioritize responsibilities; excellent time management.
• Proven ability to work well within a team environment while accomplishing individual projects. 
• Creative thinker with the ability to identify ideas for opportunities and make constructive suggestions for new content.
• Outstanding problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
• Excellent communications and project management skills.
