The Department of Educational Leadership, Policy, and Human Development at NC State's College of Education seeks an exceptional candidate to work in the area of Community College Leadership. This appointment will be a tenure-track appointment at the rank of associate professor in the Community College Leadership program area. The position provides focused leadership and support as program director for the Ed.D. program in Community College Leadership. As director of the Ed.D. program, this professor will work closely with the program faculty and coordinators on advising students, supporting dissertation committee assignments, and reviewing and updating the program curriculum. This professor will have opportunities to collaborate with the Belk Center for Community College Leadership. The leadership, scholarship, and teaching of this new colleague are expected to enhance the excellence of the academic community and contribute to the College of Education’s overarching goal of leading the way in North Carolina and beyond to increase postsecondary completion and success to assure improved social and economic mobility for all. Key responsibilities are to:Maintain and provide evidence of a record of scholarly research, publication, and externally sponsored work with a content focus on topics related to community colleges warranting an appointment with tenureLead program meetings, maintain program agendas and minutes, and communicate with program facultyRepresent the program faculty as the liaison between the program, the Director of Graduate Programs, and the Department HeadDevelop courses for the Ed.D. program in community college leadership and contribute to program design, development, and evaluation of programsChair and serve as a member of dissertation committees in the Ed.D. (applied problems of practice) programTeach (hybrid, face-to-face, and online) coursesEffectively recruit, guide, and advise graduate students in the Ed.D. programProvide collaborative leadership to advance the success of students in solving problems, with particular attention to research and scholarship in one or more of the areas: student success, workforce development, labor market outcomes, alignment of education and work, or work-based learningContribute to program design, development, and evaluation of programsContribute to the overall departmental, college, and university missions through research, teaching, and engagement/outreach serviceEngage in collaborative curriculum design and planning, contribute to the intellectual diversity of the department, and mentor doctoral studentsCollaborate with the Belk Center for Community College Leadership aligned with areas of research and scholarly expertise
