THE ROLEThe Staff Accountant manages general accounting and financial transactions with a strong attention to detail and plays an important support role, enabling senior staff to analyze and make financial decisions aligned with company objectives.
YOU WILL
- Assist in all phases of accounting including but not limited to AR, AP, accruals, fixed assets, and depreciation.
- Aggregate, analyze and convert data sources on a daily and monthly basis.
- Reconcile and prepare journal entries daily for cash and bank activity.
- Oversee sales tax management and reporting.
- Support monthly and year-end financial closes, including balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
- Engage with customers as needed in a professional manner.
- Help with gathering information for audits and tax preparation.
- Any other duties as assigned.
- Report to Accounting Manager.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting (required)
- 5 years of accounting experience (preferred)
- 3 years of multi-state sales tax experience, including a familiarity with exemption management.
- Strong balance sheet skills and understanding of GAAP, with an emphasis on ASC 606.
- Knowledge of accounting systems (NetSuite preferred)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to multi-task and balance priorities to meet deadlines.
