NCH Healthcare System is Hiring a Manager Volunteer Operations Near Naples, FL

  • Essential Job Accountabilities:

    • Job Summary:
      • The Manager Volunteer Operations serves as a trusted leader that will collaborate and champion for Volunteers associated at the North Naples hospital location. The Manager Volunteer Operations is responsible for organizational alignment, recruiting and retaining top talent, managing volunteer software systems, and developing educational modules. The Manager Volunteer Operations possesses strong skills in communication, technology, organization, building relationships, advising, engagement, and diagnosing issues.
    • Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
        • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation within areas as assigned.
        • Serves and advises on the Recruitment and Retention Committee to assist in the strategic development of Volunteer Service programs. Proactively recruits qualified adult and student candidates by participating in community events, marketing initiatives, and partnering with other organizations.
        • Interviews volunteer candidates and refers qualified candidates to orientation.
        • Attends and assists in new volunteer orientation. 
        • Conducts background screenings on applicants who are pending placement.
        • Obtains and verifies licensure/certification documentation.
        • Finalizes all on-boarding requirements.
        • Collaborates with Directors/Managers to effectively place the ideal candidate in open positions.
        • Regularly rounds and serves as a trusted partner, initiating and maintaining effective communication with the volunteers to identity trends, drive volunteer engagement and performance, retention, and influence stakeholders.
        • Works with Director to provide coaching, counseling, and development to Volunteers. 
        • Assists Director with the development and implementation of system-wide Auxiliary fundraising events. 
        • Collaborates with team to execute organizational appreciation events and system events. 
        • Leverage expertise of staff and volunteer Chairpersons to drive patient satisfaction, recommendations for policies and procedures, and facility improvements. 
        • Researches and develops new North Naples volunteer programs that increase patient and/or employee satisfaction. Create service guidelines (job descriptions) that effectively outline physical requirements, primary duties, and responsibilities for volunteer areas. 
        • Manages and maintains system-wide volunteer management software system to ensure integrity of volunteer records for accuracy, electronic personnel records, reporting of impact and other metrics. 
        • Provides technical expertise and support of volunteer website. Maintains website functionality and operation, makes recommendations for functional and performance improvements, and implements approved enhancements.
        • Works with departmental users in key areas to assess their information technology needs and develops solutions to address those needs. Assists users as needed to submit or resolve IT requests or concerns. 
        • Prepares electronic educational modules based on team input, regulatory agency mandates, and volunteer needs. Implements modules with volunteer leadership. 
        • Responsible for the oversight of the Birth Center community donation program. Maintains a current list of acceptable donations. Works with Birth Center and Infection Prevention leadership to ensure accurate processes are implemented and followed.
        • Responsible for the Birth Center knitting program. Maintains a current list of acceptable vendors, ensuring that they are Joint Commission compliant. Works with Birth Center and Infection Prevention leadership to ensure accurate processes are implemented and followed.
        • Demonstrates a high level of professionalism in personal and professional relationships that enhances Service Excellence at the NCH Healthcare System; strives to increase patient satisfaction.
    • Education, Experience, Qualifications:
        • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality, Organizational Leadership, Healthcare Administration, Interdisciplinary Studies, or related field with 5 years of experience in face-to-face customer service, Volunteer Service Leadership, and Retail Management OR High School/GED with 11 years of experience in face-to-face customer service, Volunteer Service Leadership, and Retail Management required.
        • Minimum of 1-year Concierge/Hospitality experience. 
        • Prior healthcare experience required.
        • Must have outstanding people and communication skills and problem/conflict resolution skills.
        • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple projects necessary.
        • Must be able to manage multiple business units in multiple location and manage multiple conflicting priorities.
        • Must be flexible and available to interact with employees and volunteers at all levels.
