NC Dental Network is Hiring a Dental Assistant/DAI Near Huntersville, NC

NC Pediatric Dentistry aims to provide excellent dental treatment by going beyond the basics to ensure visits are safe, relaxed, informative and fun for children!

We are currently seeking a experienced DAI to join our growing team in Huntersville, NC! 

**Part time hours (M/W) with FT options if willing to travel**

Job Summary:

To assist with quality dental care and associated services to patients under the general supervision of a dentist using established dental assisting procedures while collaborating in a team environment in a variety of patient care and clinical duties.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:

  • Must be well - organized with great attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions.
  • Reviews the schedule frequently to maximize time management.
  • Welcomes the patient and parent back by introducing them to clinic area.
  • Assists the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures.
  • Reviews treatment needed and answers any questions prior to starting procedures.
  • Completes all treatment consents including re-care and op sheets.
  • Performs routine dental cleanings.
  • Plans for next visit prior to walk out.
  • Reviews charts daily to check x-rays, clinical notes and frequency limitations for patients.
  • Maintains adequate supplies and compiles a list for Clinical Coordinator inventory control and ordering purposes
  • Educates parents and patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health.
  • Takes and develops dental radiographs.
  • Monitoring nitrous oxide.
  • Takes initiative with any additional responsibilities the Clinical Coordinator may assign.
  • Provides support to the back of the house by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area; positioning instruments for dentist's access; suctioning; passing instruments, stocking, writing clinical notes and any other clinical tasks as assigned by the Clinical Coordinator.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations according to OSHA standards.
  • Maintain care of units (flush lines, fill h2o bottles, place tablet in h2o, change traps).
  • Completes daily, weekly, and monthly duties as outlined in OSHA Manual.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED certificate
  • Successful completion of a dental assistant program as per state guidelines
  • Dental x-ray certification
  • Coronal Polishing Certification
  • Additional certification such as nitrous desired but not required

  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with persons from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, education, racial, ethnic and professional backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Understanding of health & safety regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of dental software.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Professional appearance and attitude.

Effectively working as a team member; function independently, exercise sound judgment and initiative; be flexible to shift priorities; maintain confidentiality; establish and maintain effective interpersonal work relationships.
