NC Dental Network is Hiring a DA II Near Lenoir, NC

Lower Creek Family Dentistry aims to provide excellent dental treatment by going beyond the basics to ensure visits are safe, relaxed, informative and fun for children!

We are currently seeking a motivated DA II to join our growing team in Lenoir, NC!

Job Summary:

To assist with quality dental care and associated services to patients under the general supervision of a dentist using established dental assisting procedures while collaborating in a team environment in a variety of patient care and clinical duties.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:

  • Reviews the schedule frequently to maximize time management.
  • Welcomes the patient back by introducing them to clinic area.
  • Assists the hygienists and dentists during a variety of treatment procedures.
  • Runs the New Patient column
  • Reviews treatment needed and answers questions prior to and upon completion of
  • Completes all treatment consents including re-care and op sheets.
  • Performs routine dental cleanings.
  • Plans for next visit prior to walk out.
  • Reviews charts daily to check x-rays, clinical notes and frequency limitations for patients.
  • Maintains adequate supplies and compiles a list for inventory control and ordering purposes
  • Educates patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health.
  • Takes and develops dental radiographs.
  • Takes initiative with any additional responsibilities the Business Leader or Clinical
  • Coordinator may assign.
  • Sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area; positioning instruments for dentist's access; suctioning; passing instruments, stocking, writing clinical notes and any other clinical tasks as assigned.
  • Supports Business Leader with marketing initiatives and community dental health education activities.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and
  • regulations according to OSHA standards.
  • Maintain care of units (flush lines, fill h2o bottles, place tablet in h2o, change traps).
  • Completes daily, weekly, and monthly duties as outlined in OSHA Manual.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or GED certificate
  • Successful completion of a dental assistant program as per state guidelines
  • Dental x-ray certification
  • Infection Control and/or S.P.I.C.E Certificate
  • Nitrous Certification preferred but not required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Understanding of health & safety regulations
  • Strong knowledge of dental software
  • Exceptional customer service skills

Effectively working as a team member; function independently, exercise sound judgment and initiative; be flexible to shift priorities; maintain confidentiality; establish and maintain effective interpersonal work relationships.
