Job Description

At Universal Creative, we design, develop, and deliver the most compelling entertainment experiences imaginable. Our Facilities and Construction roles manage creative design decisions, ensure constructability, and oversee project budgets and schedules to bring our projects to life. We empower our team to provide positive vendor management, innovative engineering and design direction, and strong hands-on field supervision. In this internship you will gain experience reviewing construction estimates, scopes of work, project documents and contractor Change Order requests. You will also assist in developing a new template to be used for future estimations.

Our Internship Program allows students to unlock their potential by contributing to big projects in meaningful ways that matter. To thrive as an UDX intern, you are ready to bring your passion for theme parks and design along with your desire to learn each day.

In addition to our internships being paid, we will also offer the following:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review bid documents to determine the project scope of work, site-specific conditions of importance, and contract requirements. Ensure all required information is provided and catalogued accordingly.
  • Visit project sites as needed to determine site specific conditions and restrictions.
  • Perform accurate, timely, and organized quantity takeoffs.
  • Develop accurate and complete scopes of work in the company estimating software. Assist in the preparation of cost estimates.
  • Assist in the quote evaluation and selection of vendors and subcontractors.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong math and organizational skills and proven ability to be detail oriented.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Strong knowledge of the Microsoft suite of software and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience with Bluebeam
  • Experience with AutoCAD.
  • Familiarity with local codes and standards.
  • Excellent and professional oral and written communication skills.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited bachelor’s degree program in engineering, architecture, construction management, or quantity surveying.
  • Completed coursework in construction management, engineering, or accounting program preferred.
