MUSICIAN - PROTESTANT (PART-TIME/HOURLY)

The musician shall serve as a resource person, advisor, and coordinators of the Protestant worship service music within the MHAFB community (Mountain Home AFB, Idaho). This position will not exceed 13 hours per month for the Musician.

QUALIFICATIONS

• REQUIRED - Have a minimum one (1) year of experience and comprehensive knowledge in the ability to play the following musical instruments: piano, keyboard, organ, OR guitar.
• REQUIRED - Submit a resume that includes verifiable academic, work/volunteer related references, and a minimum of one (1) year experience working as a musician in a Protestant worship service_ or_ liturgical setting.
• REQUIRED - Provide evidence by interview of the ability to sight read music and sing and play an instrument compatible with the Protestant tradition and guidelines.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Attend all Protestant Advisory meetings and provide a monthly musician report.
• Adhere to the Protestant worship format, by selecting music in coordination with the designated Protestant Chaplain. Submit selections to the designated Protestant Chaplain NLT the 1st Friday of each Month for final approval.
• Responsible for clean up after programs and return used facility space to its original setup and condition.
• Periodic ecumenical/Inter-faith service may be required in lieu of a regular scheduled Service as determined by the Protestant Chaplain or designee. Ecumenical/Inter-faith service may include but are not limited to, holiday events, memorial services, special community events, etc.

PERFORMANCE HOURS

• The Musician shall perform one rehearsal (one hour minimum) and two (2) worship services at the per week. Each rehearsal and worship service shall be invoiced as separately one practice and one service. This position will not exceed 13 hours per month for the Musician.
