The Sanitation Technician is responsible for maintaining a sanitary environment necessary for the production of safe and legal products. This includes organizing, maintaining, and operating a sanitary process environment to optimize production and minimize food safety risks, and managing pest population to minimize potential for product adulteration and/or contamination.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Maintaining a sanitary environment necessary for the production of safe and legal products
• Ensuring that Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) guidelines are adhered to.
• Washing all plant equipment as required.
• Knowing with safety equipment is needed to perform a specific job task and what chemicals are used to clean with
• Following all aspects of the Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) program· Knowing where the MSDS is located and how to read them.·
• Maintaining a sanitary work environment inside and out.
• Communicating with other departments to prioritize the sanitation schedule.
• Collecting cardboard, trash, plastic, and wastewater.
• Working in a team environment to decrease production downtime.
• Maintaining a safe work environment for the team and notifying the Maintenance Supervisor or Manager of any equipment or personnel safety issues.

Education:

• High school diploma or GED required

Experience:

• Works well as part of a team
• Good attendance is a must
• Ability to pass in-house certification tests for operation scissor lifts and boom trucks
• Basic math and computer skills required
• The ability to communicate and understand verbal directions effectively and efficiently in the English language, both verbal and written.
