Natural State Genomics is Hiring a Medical Laboratory Technician Near Little Rock, AR

Natural State Laboratories and Natural State Genomics is a medical lab serving the toxicology, genetic, and molecular testing needs of healthcare facilities in Arkansas and around the country. NSL & NSG is a young company experiencing an exciting period of growth. The ideal candidate will be a positive team player and able to thrive in an environment where change, improvement, and opportunities are the only constant. The successful candidate will bring organization, problem-solving, and a great attitude toward creating, implementing, and executing sound processes.

We are looking for a self-motivated person who is rewarded by the completion of tasks and by supporting colleagues toward success. Optimal candidates should be detail-oriented, organized, and able to work in a high-capacity setting with minimal supervision. The candidate must have a steady hand, a focused mindset, and the ability to make calculated decisions.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Perform, verify, and report molecular laboratory tests in assigned areas
  • Abiding by CLIA, OSHA, and HIPPA safety and privacy laws
  • Ensures proper operation of lab equipment by calibrating, completing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs and maintenance as needed
  • Inventory laboratory supplies
  • Adhere to quality control policies and procedures
  • Working knowledge of pipettes and multichannel pipettes
  • Proper labeling of specimens to assigned accessioning number
  • Properly filling out QA or maintenance logs/records on equipment
  • Proper communication amongst fellow co-workers
  • Keep yearly safety training and certifications up to date
  • Proper waste disposal of hazardous waste and laboratory chemicals

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Associate degree or higher plus internship in an accredited school of Medical Technology
  • Must have a minimum of associate or bachelor's degree in science or medical laboratory
  • Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience in hematology
  • Certified as a Medical Laboratory Technician through ASCP, NCA, or AMT

  • Shift Option 1: Mon-Fri 3:30p-12:00a (8hr shift)
  • Shift Option 2: Tues - Fri 1:30p-12:00a (10hr shift)
  • Shift Option 3: Wed - Fri 11:30a-12:00a (12hr shift)
